Within the framework of the international COOL-APA project (https://www.coolapa.eu), a working meeting was held between representatives of National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport and Rivne State University of the Humanities, with the participation of research teams from partner higher education institutions in Ukraine.
During the meeting, the participants discussed and agreed upon approaches to the development of survey instruments for conducting research in the field of Adapted Physical Activity (APA) in Ukraine in order to ensure the validity, reliability, and representativeness of the collected data. Particular attention was paid to the structure of the questionnaires, the accuracy of question wording, as well as the accessibility and clarity of their content for different categories of respondents. The survey instruments are designed to collect the minimum necessary demographic data, as well as information on awareness, existing experience, barriers, needs, and evaluation of Adapted Physical Activity programmes.
As part of the discussion, the following research instruments were reviewed:
- The questionnaire for service consumers: “Adapted Physical Activity (APA) in Ukraine”;
2. The questionnaire for service providers (practitioners): “Adapted Physical Activity (APA) in Ukraine”;
3. The questionnaire for students: “Adapted Physical Activity in Ukraine: Awareness, Training and Experience”.
The discussion became an important stage in preparing for the further implementation of research activities within the COOL-APA project and will contribute to the development of an evidence-based database on the current state, needs, and prospects for the development of Adapted Physical Activity in Ukraine.
